Mission Saturday

After a rough night of sleep I had to be up at the church by 9am for mission saturday. The youth, parents, and I went down to Victory Mission in Springfield. We worked on separting reading books into different grade levels. The books will be going to local school and after school programs. The youth thought that the books would be gross, dirty, and used. Actually the books were donated by Scholastic Books. What books they do not sell in certain areas they donate them to mission areas. Amazing! I remember when I was little I begged my mom and dad to buy me books... then I would get them and I wouldn't read them. They were such wise parents in not allowing me to buy more than 20.00 worth of books. What are you reading today?

So this is has been my first afternoon off in a really long time. I went to a conference this morning put on by Youth Specialities called CORE. I am a bigger fan of NYWC instead. I believe once again I should of saved my money for another quality book instead of a conference. grr. oh, well! This afternoon I walked 6 miles on the galaway (sp) trail... oh the sun felt so good on my face, arms, and hair. It's been awhile since I have had the opportunity to be with God and actually relax with him. If you have the opportunity to get out today.. it is finally feeling like SPRING!!! Oh, I got a IPOD.. finally. I am so excited for my new gadget. Have a great weekend and I'll see most of you this weekend. Blessed be the Lord!

Back from an exausting weekend. I had a great time. I really learned more about the youth and my volunteers. More later...kinda tired.

Middle School Retreat

Project Runway

So I am sad to see project runway come to an end. I was a big fan of Daniel.. but Cloe' won... which is well deserved. I can't wait till next season. Well, tomorrow I am off to Kansas City to see the family. My brother comes in on Friday from Louisanna, my parents come home on Saturday morning from their cruise, and then I am going to hang with the boys and watch a little HOOP action. Did you know it's March Madness 2006???? love it. I also am going home to see my girl Sophie (my dog). Right now she is with our next door neighbor b/c everyone is out of town. I am going to go and get all the dogs tomorrow.... surprise them with a long walk by the Missouri River... oh, how I miss taking the girls there all the time. I am going to take a long walk, enjoy the crisp air, play with the golden girls, and soak up the sun. I am also going to hook up with my good friend Kyle... he is ..well.. a guy I use to see, when I lived in K.C.--- can't wait to see him :-) Kansas City here I come.......

I talked to my good friend Craig today. It was so good to hear his voice. Craig has known me since I was 15. crazy how I have known him over 11 years. ahhh! I was sharing with him about xanga, blogger, myspace, etc. He was clueless. Hopefully, he will start a blog and comment me. lol. I also talked to my brother today. He currenlty is in Lousianna- volunteering with relief. Him and his friends are working on improving a roof on a catholic church. His voice sounded different, different in a good way. I am so thankful my brother is maturing and becoming a man of God. They packed their bags, got in their trucks, and are sleeping in tents. How amazing we have the opportunity to pick up and go help others in need. Thanks Lord for everything.

Bible Study at Kaldi's

So, we had ladies bible study this evening. We discussed Transparent Everyday Integrity. I am going to share with you one of the interesting parts that we all struggled with.

Day by Day
So, when and where is the best place to practice integrity? Every day, in our homes, in our cars, at our jobs. As wives/girl friends, we learn to submit to our husbands/boyfriends our reverence to Christ. As husbands/boyfriends, we learn to love our wives as Christ loved the church. As children, we honor our parents because we know it is right.

Provers 12:3 says, "A man cannot be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted." (NIV) We will never succeed as next generation leaders if we fail to be godly leaders in our own homes, behind closed doors. It is the character we possess in our homes that ensures our credibility in public.

Rainy Saturday

I slept in this morning till 10am. I love sleeping so much. Last night I went to the Temple of Israel with the confirmation class. We had a great time listening to the different type of worship... it amazing that this where we orginally came from. And now over time we have evolved into all these great religions. God really has allowed us to discover our own character and idenity. God is amazing. Well, my brother left for Lousianna this morning to help out with some disaster relief. Everytime I talk to him he is excited about God's work in his life. Thanks be to God.

Day Off

Today is my day off. This coming weekend we are taking the middle school youth to Acquire the Fire in Kansas City. So I am taking off Thursday and Friday this week.

I slept in today till 10am, worked out for about an hour on the treadmill and bike, watched soap operas, made tuna for lunch, and did a couple loads of laundry. I am trying to get all of my cleaning stuff out of the way so tomorrow I can run errands and then pack.

Guess what??? I am going to see my family on Saturday. They are going to meet up with me at Crown Center while I am K.C. with the youth. My mom, dad, brother, my cousin Amanda and her daughter Daylanee. I can't tell you how exciting I will be to see them. I haven't see them all since Christmas. Crazy huh.

Getting Away From the World of Xanga

I am going to follow the crowd and create a new blog. Maybe I'll like this one better than xanga. After watching the 48 hours special about myspace and xanga... little scary. Not that I give out any personal information.. I am just concerned about others including youth/children that blog everyday and give our their first names, last names, birthdays, who they are dating, etc. Pray for those people who are search out our children/youth.
